About the Event

The Stony Stratford Christmas Lights Switch-On Fun Day returns on Saturday 29 November, bringing a full day of festive entertainment, live music, and community spirit. The entire town will shine with Christmas cheer as visitors enjoy performances, food, markets, and the magical lantern procession before the big switch-on at 5pm.

This free, family-friendly event transforms the Market Square and surrounding streets into a vibrant winter celebration with music, markets, dancing, and local talent throughout the day.

🎭 Stony Stratford Mummers (11:30am–12:30pm)
A classic local tradition performing throughout the town.

🕯️ Lantern Procession
The magical lantern procession leaves York House Centre at 4:15pm, parading along London Road, High Street, and Church Street, before arriving in Market Square for the grand finale.

🌟 Lights Switch-On Ceremony

• 4:50pm – Countdown begins

• 5:00pm – Lights switched on by special guest

• 5:07pm – Thanks to sponsors

• 5:10pm – Carol singing led by Acabellas

• 5:40pm – Event close
