The record-breaking hit, which has delighted audiences around the world, will now pay a highly anticipated visit to Milton Keynes Theatre from Wednesday 28 October to Saturday 14 November 2026 as part of its UK and Ireland tour.

Matilda The Musical has been creating waves since its premiere, raking in over 100 notable awards, including 7 Olivier Awards (including Best New Musical), 5 Tony Awards, and a handful of Critics’ Circle and WhatsOnStage awards. From the beloved Roald Dahl book, this phenomenal production brings Matilda Wormwood, a gifted young girl with an indomitable spirit and a remarkable intellect who will not be swayed from what’s right. With a breathtaking mix of heart, humour, and glorious music, the show has been enchanting audiences of every age.
Marking its 15th anniversary on the stage, the show begins its tour at Leicester’s Curve Theatre on 6 October 2025, before going on to tour across the UK and Ireland. The tour includes a one-off Milton Keynes Theatre run, where local audiences will get the chance to experience this phenomenal show for themselves.

The story traces superb Matilda as she uses her witty mind and telekinetic powers to outsmart bullying from her neglectful parents and dictatorial headmistress Miss Trunchbull, discovering a heroine in her kind teacher Miss Honey. With inventive staging, the audience can anticipate Matilda‘s magical powers becoming real, the infamous “Chokey“ punishment cupboard, and Miss Trunchbull‘s unforgettable hammer-throwing scene.
