Stantonbury Theatre 50th Anniversary Concert
Stantonbury Theatre 50th Anniversary Concert
On Friday, December 6, 2024, Stantonbury Theatre invites the community to join in a special celebration marking 50 years of entertainment and community engagement. This memorable evening coincides with the very night the theatre opened its doors half a century ago.
The concert will feature an array of performances from talented groups, including Carabosse Theatre Company, Company MK, The Living Archive Band, Pepper’s Ghost Theatre Company, Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy, and Wolverton Gilbert & Sullivan Society. Each act will showcase the rich artistic heritage of the local area.
Headlining the evening is the renowned Jacqui Dankworth, who will perform alongside US piano-vocalist Charlie Wood. Jacqui’s return to the stage holds special significance, as it reflects a beautiful legacy—50 years ago, her parents, Cleo Laine and John Dankworth, inaugurated Stantonbury Theatre with a concert in 1974.
This special event promises a night filled with nostalgia, talent, and celebration, honoring the theatre’s vibrant history and its impact on the community. The concert is proudly sponsored by The Play’s The Thing Theatre Company. The theatre looks forward to celebrating this landmark occasion with everyone!
