All aboard for a gripping, suspenseful, and thrilling ride!

Last night (25/02), Milton Keynes boarded the Orient Express. The audience was taken on a dramatic journey, and what a ride it was!

As an Agatha Christie fan, I knew this play was going to be brilliant, and it did not disappoint. I was completely captivated from start to finish. The audience reacted with gasps, laughter, and eager anticipation as the mystery unfolded.

This Murder on the Orient Express Tour review wouldn’t be complete without highlighting the incredible production. Adapted for stage by Ken Ludwig and directed by Lucy Bailey, it masterfully brings this classic tale to life, offering a fresh and engaging perspective on the beloved mystery.

The famous detective Hercule Poirot (played by Michael Maloney) stood out as the undeniable heart of the production, capturing the detective’s meticulous nature and sharp wit. But can the famous detective crack the case before the train reaches its final destination?

Murder on Orient Express Review 2025 1

Each character that boarded the Orient Express brought their own unique stage presence and portrayals to their roles, ensuring that every moment on board the train was filled with intrigue, drama, and suspense.

The cast, including Bob Barrett as Monsieur Bouc and Mila Carter as Countess Elena Andrenyi, brought depth and authenticity to their roles, keeping the audience engaged throughout. Every character stood out to me, but my favorite was Helen Hubbard (played by Christine Kavanagh)—an absolute scene-stealer with her bold, larger-than-life personality.

Another highlight of this Murder on the Orient Express Tour review is the stunning set design! The set was simply beautiful, with wooden furniture and deep blue tones—the kind of vintage aesthetic you’d expect. The background noises of the train and jazz music truly brought it to life. It was cleverly designed to allow for seamless transitions between the train compartments, creating an immersive experience that made the audience feel as though they were truly aboard the Orient Express.
