Review: I Should Be So Lucky The Musical at Milton Keynes Theatre
I Should Be So Lucky REVIEW

‘I Should Be So Lucky’ is an entertaining, vibrant, and upbeat show that strives to make the audience feel good!

I Should Be So Lucky: The Musical is a fun and nostalgic trip down memory lane, with catchy tunes, colourful costumes, and energetic choreography. The cast is talented and charismatic, and they deliver the songs with enthusiasm and flair. I absolutely loved the dancing; the cast were having the best time, and the energy was infectious!

Kylie Minogue (who was my childhood icon) makes a special appearance as a digital character who guides the couple through their journey, adding some star power and humour to the show. The musical also pays tribute to the legacy of Stock Aitken Waterman, who are credited as the creators and producers of the show, and who have shaped the pop culture of a generation. I personally didn’t know all the songs, but this did not stop me doing a little dance in my seat, and at the end of the show everyone was up, singing and dancing along! The atmosphere was fabulous!

i should be so lucky review - March 2024

If you are a fan of the 80s pop music produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, you will love this musical that features over 30 of their hit songs, including Kylie Minogue’s “I Should Be So Lucky”. The musical tells the story of Ella and Nathan, a young couple who are about to get married, but things go wrong, and they end up on a honeymoon without a wedding. Along the way, they encounter various characters and situations that are inspired by the lyrics of the songs, such as Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”, Jason Donovan’s “Especially for You”, and Bananarama’s “Love In The First Degree”.

This show is a celebration of love, friendship, and pop music that will appeal to anyone who grew up with or enjoys the songs of Stock Aitken Waterman. It is currently touring the UK and Ireland.
